One recipe, more than a decade of weekend mornings, and the bag friends and family kept asking to take home.
— How we got here
2016
The ask. My son was two, and he started asking me for waffles. So I made them, and kept making them.
2017
After a couple of years of refining the recipe, and being in the kitchen every weekend, friends and family started asking for bags of the mix and premade waffles. The first sign I was on to something.
2020
The kiddo asks me to make a food truck to sell waffles and name it Hurricane Waffles. That's when the idea of selling them started to become real.
2022
I registered the McNeil Mixes name for the first time. It never really went anywhere, other than buying 300 bags to put the mix in. Spoiler alert: I never filled the bags.
2023
I unregistered the LLC I'd filed the year before. The business went quiet.
2025
The years passed; but I could still be found in the kitchen every weekend making waffles for kiddo, family, and friends.
2026
Serious interest turned into real orders. I registered the McNeil Mixes name once again and officially sold the first bags of mix.
I am genuinely grateful for everyone who shows, and has shown, support for me, and McNeil Mixes, over the years. What started as a simple ask of making waffles turned into a passion to bring traditions to my family, and yours. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy the mix as much as my family has.
